INFINITI QX50’s Handcrafted Interior
The new 2019 INFINITI QX50 is one of the most well-appointed vehicles on the market. Its beautiful interior has taken inspiration from Japanese philosophies, blending natural materials to suite form and function, while maintaining the upmost in luxury.
In 2016, when INFINITI presented the QX Sport Inspiration concept car, audiences got their first glimpse at a completely unique and remarkable cabin environment. Over the last few years, INFINITI designers have experimented with and tailored fine leathers and wooden surfaces to elevate the QX50 interior to a completely new level.
Utilizing techniques steeped in traditional Japanese philosophies, designers have created the QX50 interior to strike a balance between comfort and aesthetics. The Japanese handcraft philosophies of “Mitate” and “Shitate” were used to craft the concept car cabin and now production model interiors. Mitate is the practice of curating the best possible materials and using them in contrast or as a complement to each other. Shitate refers to the process by which these fine materials are shaped or composed to bring out their very best qualities.
Careful selection of wood, leather, metal and thread was followed by endurance testing to ensure that all materials used would stand the test of time. INFINITI’s designers also worked to ensure that the thoughtfully curated cabin would also contain authentic elements such as open pore wood instead of dyed or glossy coated surfaces.
With the additional selection of multiple tone color schemes (one to three-tone options) the new 2019 INFINITI QX50 cabin has been artfully mastered and is truly unlike that of any other luxury vehicle.
